Du tome 18 au tome 30... Les Ants sont tombées comme des cheveux sur la soupe après Greed Island, mettant à l'écart beaucoup de personnages ou quêtes secondaires, et ont formé de loin le plus long arc de HxH. Long et pas exempt de défauts : dessins parfois bâclés, longs passages explicatifs et digressifs (encore plus que d'habitude) parfois assommants et un ennemi-Roi (pseudo-Freezer assumé) pas franchement enthousiasmant au départ.Pourtant... L'idée initiale séduisante (une armée de fourmis qui va tout dévaster) a bifurqué finalement sur autre chose, à laquelle on adhérera ou non, réflexion classique sur la vraie place de tout un chacun et sur l'amour au sens noble du terme (entre le Roi et Komugi ou ses gardes, entre Gon et Kirua...). En y rajoutant une belle fin, bien différente de celle d'un shônen classique, et de très grands moments (le déferlement des fourmis, la naissance du Roi, l'entraînement de nos deux héros, le début de l'affrontement, les duels Roi-Président ou Gon-Pitu), cet arc fut quand même une réussite.Bref, après celui-ci, un nouvel arc donc ! Trois nouveaux enjeux : pour le premier, l'élection d'un nouveau président, et je ne dirai rien des deux autres qui sont intimement mêlés. On est d'ailleurs extrêmement frustré par la résolution de l'un d'entre eux, qu'on attendait plus compliqué, depuis le temps...Dessins idem, plutôt chouettes et avec quelques émotions lors de certains passages, un peu plus clairs avec le départ des Kimera Ants.Nouvel arc, nouveau départ ? Et bien non, ce mini-arc fut vite terminé en mars 2012 au Japon (les tomes 31 et 32 sont prévus pour septembre et décembre 2013 en France) par la présentation d'un autre qui semblait plus ambitieux et depuis lors... aucune nouvelle.
